Alghero – Neptune's Grotto

The Grotta di Nettuno is one of the most spectacular natural attractions in Alghero, where stalactite formations, underground lakes and the sea or cliff path leading to the cave are part of the experience in themselves.

A sunlit landscape of part of the coastline of Porto Conte National Park, near Alghero, on the island of Sardinia. In the foreground is a rocky shore of rough, fragmented brown rock that gradually slopes down into clear, transparent seawater. The shallower parts of the water are a bright turquoise blue, with a sandy bed visible below the surface, while deeper down it turns a darker blue, and the sunlight glistens on it. The coastline is covered by a dense, dark green pine forest that runs along a hillside and reaches all the way to the edge of the rocky shore. Above the forest is a pale blue sky with few clouds.
